The three new stations of Metro Line 3 Maniatika, Piraeus, Dimotiko Theatro are operative and in service for all passengers.
With the operation of the new stations Maniatika, Piraeus, Dimotiko Theatro is estimated that the number of passengers that use daily the metro will be increased by 132.000. Traffic will be decreased by 23.000 cars. Air pollution will be decreased by 120 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). With the new 3,2 Kilometers extension of Metro, Line 3 “Dimotiko Theatro – Doukissis Plakentias – Airport” will be 27 stations
The frequency of trains in the section Dimotiko Theatro – Doukissis Plakentias during the rush-hours (07.30-11.00 & 13:30 – 17:30) remains every 4 minutes and during the night-hours (22:00 – 00:20) is reduced to every 9 minutes instead of 10 minutes. In the section Airport – Dimotiko Theatro the frequency of trains will be 36 minutes.
